Bridgeport Attorney Named to Federal Advisory Committee

BRIDGEPORT — A Bridgeport attorney has been named to a newly formed federal advisory committee established by Connecticut’s two U.S. senators.

Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder attorney Kathleen Nastri was invited to join the new committee, set up to advise and assist Sen. Christopher Dodd and Sen. Joseph Lieberman in selecting the next U.S. Attorney in Connecticut.

“I am very humbled by the request of the senators,” said Nastri. “Given the important service the U.S. Attorney provides and the extraordinary qualifications of the candidates being evaluated for that position, this is truly a privilege.”

Others named to the committee are: Timothy D. Bates, attorney; Sanford Cloud, Jr., businessman; Dr. Estela R. Lopez, educator; Dan Papermaster, attorney; Ellen Ash Peters, former Chief Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court; and Stanley Twardy, Jr., a former U.S. Attorney.

Nastri focuses on personal injury and medical malpractice at Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder, and has brought to trial a number of precedent-setting cases. Currently the State Governor of the American Association of Justice (AAJ), Nastri also was the first female president of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA). She is co-chair of the CTLA’s Continuing Legal Education committee and editor of the “Verdicts and Settlements” column of CTLA Forum Magazine. She is a Fellow, Connecticut Bar Foundation and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
