KK&B handles a wide variety of important cases that bring people into court. These cases include serious personal injury claims, work site injuries, civil rights actions, police brutality, anti-trust, securities fraud, consumer rights, HMO abuse, employment discrimination and actions against the State and Federal Government.
We are proud of our record in those cases. In some we have recovered substantial compensation for our seriously injured clients. In others we have been responsible for important changes in the conduct of corporate and governmental defendants.
We were lead counsel in the litigation surrounding the collapse of L'Ambience Plaza resulting in hundreds of claims for deaths and serious personal injuries.
Our lawyers handled cases for scores of Connecticut citizens killed and injured in the Dupont Plaza Hotel in Puerto Rico. We also played a leading role in the litigation surrounding the injuries and deaths from the collapse of the Mianus River Bridge.
We have successfully obtained recoveries for children permanently harmed by exposure to lead paint. Our employment cases have resulted in the racial and ethnic integration of police and fire departments in several large Connecticut cities, compensation for workers sexually harassed at their jobs, and compensation for older workers unlawfully fired because of their age.
In another recent case we obtained $3.8 million for the brain-damaged child of a Sioux Indian woman who received sub-standard care in a Government Hospital in South Dakota. We are hopeful that the resolution of that case will result in improved health care for the Native American population.
There are many other cases that we handle on behalf of those who have been injured and whose rights have been violated by the powerful corporate and governmental forces that mold and affect our lives.
